Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream

I love Korean beauty products and with their innovative, effective, often wacky formulations it is no wonder K Beauty as it is known has has started to capture the hearts and imaginations of beauty fans in Europe and America.

When it comes to K Beauty i’ve tried lots of bizarre ingredients from Snail Filtrate to Donkey Milk without flinching, but sometimes an ingredient comes along makes me stop and exclaim “really?!” and today I have a Korean face cream to review that definitely invoked such a reaction when I first heard about it.

The Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream (50ml RRP £25.50, Libbie Club price 20.40) features placenta, but before you run a mile at that word, I must stress that this is plant placenta. Providing the same care to young buds in plants as mammal placenta does for a growing fetus, plant placenta is incredibly rich in nutrients which promotes skin cell regeneration.

Unlike many other brands utilising this ingredient the concentration of placenta extract in the Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream is very high, at 1500mg. The cream also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Trehalose, which help skin cells to retain water, and sagebrush, yarrow and rose extract to sooth sensitive skin. The result is a highly nourishing, soothing cream that plumps, softens and brightens the skin.

The texture of the cream is lovely, making me go ‘oooh’ at its soft, silky feel upon my skin. It reminds me of whipped cream; rich yet somehow lightweight. It feels really moisturising yet sinks into my skin rapidly leaving it looking hydrated but not greasy. As someone with mature skin that also has a tendency to be oily this cream has achieved the perfect texture managing to be nourishing whilst absorbing into my skin, and I love how it makes my skin feel and look. This cream is definitely proof that it often pays to go outside of your comfort zone and not to be put off by first impressions!

There is currently 20% off the Mizon Placenta Ampoule Cream at the Libbie Club so whether you’re already a fan of Korean Beauty products, or you just fancy seeing for yourself why K-Beauty is making waves here in the West, why not try this amazing cream for yourself while it is at this incredible price?
