Sinensis is a story of triumph over adversity. At every turn the creators of this high tech, natural skincare range were told that their aim – to produce a skincare range that was rich in botanical extracts and skin science extracts, incorporated Chinese herbs and was free from all potentially toxic chemicals – was impossible. Turned away by three major manufacturering partners, they finally found a company willing to help make this dream a reality, and after 3 years of extensive testing and experimentation Sinesis was born.
I was very kindly sent the Sinesis Ganoderma Gold Reviving Serum to try, and from the off I was truly excited to try this amazing sounding brand. When the serum arrived it was beautifully packaged and first impressions definitely didn’t disappoint. But really it is the contents that are the star of the show. Read on to find out more.
The Ganoderma Gold Reviving Serum (£37.50)* is a sublime serum tasked with reducing wrinkles and blemishes, boosting collagen and elastin to improve skin elasticity, brightening, softening and smoothing skin, providing antioxidant protection from UV damage and enhancing skin regeneration. Suitable for all skin types, the serum excludes 20 common chemicals found in a myriad of beauty products and is also completely cruelty free.
Amongst the natural formulation is three key botanical actives – Ganoderma, Soybean and White Tea – all of which have been specifically selected for their efficacy when caring for the skin and treating various skin complaints.
Ganoderma is a mushroom known to have the ability to cure various external skin issues, such as wounds, sunburn, rashes, and insect bites. It promotes circulation which in turn helps to improve the elasticity and tone of skin and slows down the ageing process. It also has an antioxidant effect which helps reduce UV damage and is rich in anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic agents.
Similarly the Soybean extract also reduces the effect of UVB exposure on skin cells, and along with its antioxidant (Genistein) has a collagen-stimulating effect. Soybean also has anti-irritant properties which helps the skin to replenish its stores of moisture, and acts as an emollient to smoothe and soften the skin’s texture and appearance.
Finally White Tea – which has long been used as a beauty ingredient – is rich in ECCG and Flaviniods to reduce oxidative stress, protecting the skin from pollution and sun damage.
These ingredients make this serum especially good in the fight against external aggressors, such as pollution and UV light, which can otherwise lead to premature skin aging that manifests itself in fine lines, wrinkles and dullness.
The serum itself is so lightweight and has a silky feel on the skin. Little flecks of pure 24K gold run through the serum which lend your complexion a radiant glow but also have a practical purpose as gold has been found to help maintain the skin’s collagen and inhibit the breakdown of elastin. The serum is absorbed quickly, without leaving behind a greasy or sticky residue, and the result is skin which feels supple and looks brighter.
If you like to avoid the plethora of nasty chemicals found in many skincare ranges Sinensis is definitely a brand worth checking out. Their ethos of mixing age-old Chinese herbal skincare remedies with cutting edge skincare technology really results in products that perform, yet are gentle and uncompromising when it comes to the health of your skin.
