Kids Travel Essentials

As scary as it seems, despite the fact the schools only went back four weeks ago, the October Half Term will soon be here. For us that means our family holiday is just around the corner and I can’t wait to get some Winter sun and relax before the hectic run up to Christmas!

Of course my mind is currently preoccupied making lists of items we will need for our holiday and one of my top priorities is keeping our 5 year old daughter happy, so today I thought I’d share with you some of the essential items I’ll be packing for her.

YOU Beauty Box September 2016

I love YOU Beauty Box and whilst other beauty boxes have been and gone I have been a loyal subscriber to this box for more than two years. This month’s review however very nearly didn’t happen for reasons that I’ll explain later, but after a false start I have my hands on my box (even if it wasn’t quite the box I’d hoped for).

September’s box features The Editor’s Picks, a bunch of products each of which have been selected by and have the seal of approval of YOU Beauty’s very own beauty insiders. The concept of this beauty box is simple, choose your membership level (prices start at a very affordable £6.95) and select 2, 3 or 4 products from the monthly shortlist, then sit back and wait for your goodies to arrive along with a couple of extras. So what did I pick? Read on to find out!

Burnley Gin Festival 2016

As a card carrying CAMRA member it’s no secret I love my real ale but I’m also a fan of a good old G&T. In recent years Gin has really experienced a Renaissance – 10 or so years ago you probably had a handful of big name brands to choose from in your local supermarket or bar – and now there are so many brands and Gin types on the market. Hooray!

Riding on the crest of Gin’s new found popularity is the Gin Festival, which as you may expect gives lovers of the drink a place to discover new Gins and for brands to showcase their product. I was invited to the Burnley Gin Festival* recently and I couldn’t wait to learn more about my favourite tipple and unearth some new favourites!

Hairburst Chewable Hair Vitamins

I’m a big believer in taking vitamins – not to replace a healthy diet but to supplement it – ensuring that my body gets all the minerals and vitamins it requires to function normally and look healthy.

Trichologists have found there is a strong link between your overall nutrition and the state of your hair, and vitamin deficiencies can contribute to dull, weak, and thinning strands. Hairburst is a new vitamin supplement scientifically proven to maintain healthy hair growth and I over the last month I have been trialling the supplement.

Paul Yacomine Micro Duo Review

Recently my hair really has been misbehaving; it feels dry and coarse and gets knotted very easily, yet when I introduce any sort of deep conditioner or oil to smooth and hydrate my hair instantly feels greasy and weighed down! So when I tried the Paul Yacomine Micro Duo which is one of this month’s Libbie Club offers it was with some trepidation. Would this be yet another disappointment?

Luckily this pair of oils were exactly what my hair needed and I can genuinely say in just two weeks of use they have transformed my hair and become must-have products. Designed not leave build-up on the hair nor weigh it down, they have really left my hair feeling cared for, looking nourished and feeling strokably soft. Not to mention they smell absolutely divine and feel so luxurious – making them a real joy to use!
