Birchbox – October 2016 Review

My October Birchbox has arrived much to my excitement.

This month’s box is beautifully designed to correspond to your starsign so being a Pisces I received Water, and it is printed with glow in the dark stars – I love it! Inside this stellar box is an array of beauty star products to prep and preen you from head to toe!

My first out of the box is a 50ml travel sizedDoux Me Pure Spring Water Spray (full size RRP £16). I often replace my toner with a refreshing spritz of mineral rich spring water so this is a welcome addition to my box. It’s also great used before applying a mud mask to really boost the mineral content, or when you’re working in a hot, stuffy and drying environment to keep you cool under pressure.

Next up is a 7ml sample of Ole Henricksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster (full size RRP £47). Described as a daily vitamin boost for your face, this serum features a high powered vitamin C complex to smoothen lines, wrinkles and prevent further damage. Antioxidant rich Green Tea and moisture-binding Sodium Hyaluronate keep your skin nourished and protected. The good news is it is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates too.

The third product is full sized Lord & Berry Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick in Intimacy (RRP £12). This is a very pretty dusky pink shade which can be used in place of a traditional lipstick, although it would also work well as a lip liner. It has a creamy feel upon application, yet dries down to a longlasting, matte finish.

Moving on we have a travel sized Aromatherapy Associates Destress Muscle Gel (40ml, full size RRP £25), designed to soothe tired, knotted muscles and help you unwind. It smells utterly divine and I’m so pleased to see it feature in my box!

The fifth product is a 15ml sample of Number 4 Fluoro5 Restore & Repair Oil (full size RRP £18), a lightweight and nourishing oil that will defrizz, add shine, seal split ends and help maintain coloured hair. Just a couple of drops is all you need for a sleeker looking mane!

As a bonus item Birchbox have included a handy eyebrow brush to help keep those brows on fleek!

This is a lovely selection of products, and the star-studded box covers every aspect of beauty. The standout product for me is the Destress Muscle Gel from one of my favourite brands of the moment, Aromatherapy Associates, who really know how to blend essential oils into the most sublimely scented products you’ll probably ever use!

If you are tempted to treat yourself to a Birchbox subscription you can sign up for £12.95 each month and you can use my referral link you will get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you too.
