It has been so long since I bothered with an Empties post – I think my last one was back in April – that I’ve decided to split my latest into two parts and today I’ll look at all the products I used up over the first few months of the Summer.
As you may expect over the Summer I was definitely focused taking care of my body and ensuring my skin was fit to bare, so I have loads of body cream empties. My favourite of the bunch had to be the Sea Buckthorn Body Lotion from one of my favourite natural brands, Weleda. This lotion had a lovely scent and left my skin feeling so smooth and hydrated without any greasiness so it will definitely be a product I repurchase.
The InstaNaturals Cellulite Cream and Stretchmark Cream were also hits leaving my thighs feeling and looking much more toned, and to help maintain my tan I used St Tropez Tan Optimizer, which was nice enough although I’m not sure these sort of products work any better than a standard body lotion to be honest.
To make sure my feet wouldn’t be an embarrassment in my sandals I really slathered on the foot lotion and the Margaret Dabbs Foot Balm was my weapon of choice. This high-end product really kept my feet prepped and sandal ready (see my full review here) and I already have a back-up in my stash – it’s worth every penny. Finally the Rituals Serenity Hand Cream and Champneys Refreshing Hand Lotion ensured my hands were cared for and manicures stayed looking fresh, especially after a hard day doing the garden.
Moving on to skincare and it was definitely a case of less is more over the summer; Eyeko Eye Makeup Remover Wipes and Soap & Glory Off Your Face Wipes ensured that even when I was on holiday or late to bed I could remove my makeup quickly yet effectively, whilst Vasanti Brighten Up facial exfoliator deep cleansed my pores and kept my skin looking bright. Following up with the Clinique Clarifying Lotion or, even better, a lovely refreshing spritz of InstaNaturals Vitamin C Toner, then a few drops of Trilogy Rosehip Oil and my skin was good to go!
At the end of a busy week I always like a good pamper with a face mask and amongst the masks I used over the summer were the Ooharr Deep Cleansing Mask (review here), the When Travel Mate sheet mask and the amazing Acropass Eyezone Care patches, which you can read more about here.
Hair care wise and the only products I used up over the summer was a tube of Philip Kingsley Elastizer, which is a must to prevent your hair from getting frazzled as the temperatures rise, and a Tommyguns Pomegranate & Orange Flower Shampoo and Conditioner duo. My hair can be pretty temperamental when it comes to hair products but seemed to respond well to Tommyguns so I may well repurchase this range when I’ve worked through my stash.
In my next Empties post I’ll be looking at all the products I used up over the late summer. So do keep an eye out for that one!
Are there any of your favourite products amongst my use-ups?
