Marula Oil is the latest beauty secret making waves in the industry. Harvested by hand in the most rural parts of South Africa it is nutrient rich and packed full of antioxidants, vitamins and omega oils which deliver nutrition, moisture and luminosity to your skin and hair, and I fell in love with the precious oil when I reviewed the Marula Facial Oil back in 2015.
Now the company behind the brilliant facial oil have introduced new products to the Marula Pure Beauty Oil range including the Deep Moisture Hair Mask which I had the pleasure of trying recently.
The Marula Deep Moisture Hair Mask (177ml, RRP £24)* is a luxurious, intense conditioning treatment that promises to transform the hair in as little as 5 minutes. The mask helps rebalance the scalp, strengthens and improves hair’s elasticity and restores moisture with the result being improved manageability and an intense shine.
The pure Marula Oil in the mask contains high levels of Oleic Acid which enable it to penetrate the hair shaft and treat it from within, while Keratin Amino Acids help repair and Wheat Protein smoothes and softens. Finally Pro-Vitamin B5 locks in colour, moisturizes and adds shine. Additional plant extracts such as Avocado Oil, Shea Butter and Aloe Vera also nourish the hair and scalp.
The mask is ideal for hair that has been damaged by heat styling, environmental stresses or chemicals and I’m ashamed to say my hair ticked all three of those boxes. A bad dye job, heat styling and a beach holiday had all left my hair in quite a state – dry, brittle and strawlike – it was a nightmare to style, broke when I brushed it and was completely lacking in shine. One application of the mask completely infused my hair with moisture, leaving it feeling stronger and more resilient. Even when still wet my hair brush glided through the hair without snagging and once dry it felt super soft and looked frizz-free and glossy. You could really see my highlights shining through once again. I was so impressed I couldn’t stop stroking my hair!
