Birchbox – January 2017 Review

January can be a dull month. The Christmas holidays are over, the decorations are down, and the mornings seem darker than ever. Cue Birchbox to brighten up your day with a box full of beauty treats and help banish those January blues!

For £12.95 Birchbox delivers a monthly box chocful of beauty products – including samples and full sized items – for you to put to the test. It’s a great way of discovering new brands and trying out the latest launches. The January theme is ‘Sprinkle Happiness’ but have Birchbox managed to bring some happiness into my life with this month’s box? Read on to find out!

First out of the box is a full size Yes To Carrots Moisturising Eye Cream (RRP £9.95). I’m a big fan of Yes To and their natural skin friendly formulations, in fact I have quite a lot of their products already so this is a very welcome item. One of my New Years resolutions is to apply eye cream twice daily as sometimes I can be a bit naughty if I’m short of time and skip this important step. I think I’ll tuck this into my handbag so there is no excuse not to apply it!

Next up is a 30ml sample of Monu Professional Skincare MONUSpa Rosewood Reviving Mist (RRP £19.95) Featuring rosewood, sandalwood and lemon the facial mist hydrates, nourishes and tones the skin. This is another product destined for my handbag as it’s a great skin refresher and makeup reviver, and it is also the perfect size to carry around.

Moving on we have another full size product in the form of a Merci Handy Hand Cream (RRP £4.90). This hand cream features tiny spheres which burst as you rub it in, released skin softening oils that leave hands hydrated and delicately scented.

The next product is a Birchbox exclusive and a third full size product – Birchbox are really spoiling us this month! The Lord & Berry Concealer Stick in Beige (RRP £12) is a really handy concealer crayon, that is ideal for use when you are short on time. The format is great for applying on the run, hiding blemishes, dark circles and imperfections.

My final product is one I wasn’t overly bothered about when I first saw it in the box, but once I tried it I was really impressed with the shade, which is a really pretty colour for Spring. The Nails Inc Nail Polish is a 4ml mini so it’s great for your travel bag.

Birchbox have nailed this month’s box for me. All the products shout Spring to me, from the refreshing skincare, floral scented handcream, brightening concealer and pretty pastel-hued nail polish; all perfect for bringing a breath of fresh air to your makeup routine!

If you are tempted to treat yourself to a Birchbox you can sign up for £12.95 per month and if you use my referral link you will get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you too. Next months box will feature a full size Spectrum brush which I am already really excited about!

I get the U.S.version of Birchbox and it is interesting to see the differences in what you get. I like your box this month! I would be happy to find it in my mailbox.
