Dermalogica Daily Cleansing Shampoo & Conditioner

You may be familiar with Dermalogica as a skincare brand, but did you know that they now do shampoo and conditioner? I recently tested the range out so read on to find out how I got on.

The Dermalogica Daily Cleansing Shampoo and Daily Conditioning Rinse are designed for people who wash their hair regularly so the formulation is gentle, won’t strip the hair of its natural oils and don’t cause build up. As with all Dermlogica products, the scent is clean and fresh with a hint of fruit, and the unisex packaging make it a great range for men too.

The Daily Cleansing Shampoo (250ml, RRP £19.80) is free of harsh chemicals such as sulphates and detergent, and it features coconut, argan and avocado oils which protect the hair from UV rays as well as infusing it with moisture, and imparting shine. The formula also includes grapefruit, lavender and geranium essential oils which give the shampoo its gorgeous scent. The shampoo produces a really strong lather which leaves the hair feeling thoroughly cleansed.

Used after the shampoo the Daily Conditioning Rinse (250ml, RRP £20.70) features pro vitamin B5 to smooth and condition the damaged hair shaft. The texture feels creamy and quite thick, but rinses out well and doesn’t weigh the hair down.

Due to having very oily hair I wash it at least five times a week and I often worry that harsh shampoos will upset my scalp and harm my hair, but I have found that some SLS free shampoos don’t really seem to be up to the job of cleaning greasy hair sufficiently. Fortunately Dermalogica’s haircare range has proven to be gentle enough to use daily, without compromising on its ability to lift away dirt and grease, leaving my hair soft, shiny and healthy.

You will find Dermalogica’s new haircare range online and at all your usual Dermalogica stockists.
