One of the highlights of my blogging calender is the biennial Blog On Conference in Manchester. Blog On is organised by Laura of Tired Mummy of Two and her fantastic team of fellow bloggers and it is held of the Museum of Science and Industry.
The conference is well attended by lots of diverse brands and PR companies, so the networking opportunities are great, and there are also some brilliant sessions where you can learn everything from photography and blog planning to improving your social media or how to monetize your blog.
This was my second Blog On event (the write on my first is here) and it didn’t disappoint. Everyone was so welcoming on arrival, and there was plenty of coffee and tea to start the day before we all made our way to the meeting room for the official welcome talk. I saw quite a few familiar faces from the previous conference plus many new ones.
Following the welcome talk were the first sessions, after which there was a refreshment break. During this break I wandered around looking at the various stands. There were some great brands being represented and lots of competitions to enter, plus the PRs and brand representatives were more than happy to take my details for future networking opportunities. My favourite room was the games room from Playtime PR because I love board games and it was fun playing them and chatting about their latest Blogger Campaign – the Bloggers Board Game Club!
Lunch this year was a packed lunch which I didn’t think was a good as the buffet that was provided last year, but it was filling enough. As we had an hour I nipped out to a pub just opposite the MSI for a quick pint and break from the conference!
The afternoon break included wine and cake, then it was time for the raffle and prizes to be announced. After a final speech from Laura there was just one thing left, which was to hand out the epic Goody Bags full to the brim with products and samples from the various brands that were involved.
As usual Laura and her team did a fantastic job and i’m already looking forward to September’s Blog On. It is definitely a blogging event not to be missed!
