It’s been a few weeks since November’s YOU Beauty Box landed on my doormat but finally I’ve found time to road test the products I chose and bring you my review.
If you’ve read my recent reviews you will know that the YOU Beauty Box had a little revamp a few months ago and there are now three membership tiers, which allow you to chose 2, 3 or 4 products from the monthly shortlist. I currently have a Gold Membership priced at £10.95, but even if you opt for the £6.95 Bronze Membership you will still find your box is great value. So what did I choose this month?
With Christmas fast approaching beauty brands are launching their gift sets and over next few weeks i’ll be featuring a few of them on my blog and hopefully giving you a bit of inspiration in the process.
If you regularly forget to stock up on sanitary products, leaving you short at that time of the month, then Pink Parcel is the subscription service for you. Priced at £10.50 per month this box delivers you a regular supply of tampons or sanitary towels, plus a bundle of treats, completely taking the hassle out of your period and making it a time to look forward to than one you dread.
Toning should be an essential part of every skincare, helping to remove minute traces of makeup that may be left after cleansing it also refreshes, rehydrates and balances the skin in preparation for moisturising. I’m betting however, a lot of people out there – myself included – often skimp on that step. Fortunately the product I have to review today not only makes toning a doddle but also a pleasure.
Made using 100% natural ingredients that are suitable for all skin types the AA Skincare Frankincense & Rose Toner (150ml, £7.98)* is a beautifully cooling and refreshing toner. The 150ml recyclable pump spray makes applying the toner so easy either by spritzing it directly onto the skin or on cotton wool. Best of all it also also doubles up as a facial mist, perfect for throwing into your hamdbag or gym kit to quench and refresh dry and tired skin throughout the day.
Now the warmer weather is here your thoughts, like mine, have probably turned to how you can keep yourself feeling fresh as the temperatures soars. If you’re attending a music festival, going camping, or travelling somewhere and likely to be cooped up on a train or car for several hours, then the ability for you to freshen up quickly and easily is even more important.
An obvious product to keep close at hand for such circumstances is a good cleansing wipe. Now I know some people hate them, and I would never recommend them for everyday cleansing, but for the odd occasion when time is short or bathing facilities are basic or worse, non-existent then a cleansing wipe is definitely way better than sleeping in your makeup, and AA Skincare have two fabulous options to keep you feeling clean when the mercury rises!
When I choose a cleansing wipe I like to make sure it is as skin-friendly as possible, and the wipes from AA Skincare totally tick that box with zero alcohol, parabens or artificial fragrance and packed full of natural ingredients. They’re also made of 100% biodegradable viscose making them environmentally friendly to boot.
Natural beauty products are becoming increasingly popular as people shun ingredients such as SLS, Parabens, and artificial colours and fragrance, and what was once only a very niche market has now become mainstream. AA Skincare is one such brand leading the way in making natural skincare affordable and accessible and now they’ve launched a range of shampoos that replace harsh stripping agents found in some shampoos with beneficial essential oils that nourish the hair and scalp. I was recently sent one to put through its paces, so how did I get on?
The AA Skincare Amla and Clary Sage Rejuvenating Shampoo (RRP £5.94)* we are told is suitable for all hair types but is particularly good for soothing irritated scalps, and to help strengthen roots and prevent hair loss. If you have issues with thinning hair or suffer with an irritated scalp this shampoo sounds like the perfect choice.
As part of my beauty regime I always try to aim for a weekly pamper evening, where I really take my time to cleanse, exfoliate and apply a face mask. A really gorgeous one that I introduced to my routine recently is the Frankincense and Rose Clay Face Mask from AA Skincare.
