The English Soap Company

Never mind the popularity of shower gels and liquid handwashes, there is something comforting about using a traditional soap, and I don’t seem to be the only one who loves a good bar of soap.

Whilst soap bars may have fallen out of favour over the years there seems to have been a resurgence recently, perhaps linked to the craze for all things vintage or handcrafted, and The English Soap Company* definitely seem to be capitalising on this trend with their range of beautifully crafted soaps.

Lush Valentine’s and Mother’s Day 2016

I’ve been meaning to pop into Lush ever since the Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day ranges lauched but as ‘popping’ actually means a half hour drive down the M66 to Bury that trip only happened this weekend. This means I’m late to the party but finally I’ve checked out the range and picked up goodies from both ranges plus a couple of items that have been on my wishlist for a while.

Lush Boxing Day Haul 2015 – Part One

This year’s Lush Boxing Day sale proved to be even more stressful than last year, as the website was completely swamped by Lush fanatics, eager to get their hands on bargainous bath bombs and limited edition favourites before they sold out – with a massive 50% saving on all their Christmas stock who could blame them?! In fact for a lot of customers it proved impossible to make a purchase and Lush took the brave step of pulling the site and, a first for them, extended the sale beyond the usual one day.

Luckily I was prepared to have a battle on my hands and with my finger poised on the refresh button and a lot of persistence I managed to make an order on Boxing Day and I’m so excited to share my haul with you today!

Soul and Soap

Soul and Soap is a small company specialising in making handmade, natural bath and body products. Owned by Latvian-born Anna, she actually left her job in marketing to develop and sell her own luxury bathing products and the fledgling company was born. From the early days of selling in craft markets Soul and Soap’s web business soon began to take off and spurred on with a relocation to Cornwall Anna’s aim now is to grow her range and reach out to a wider marketplace. All Soul and Soap’s products are cruelty-free, contain only natural ingredients, and are entirely handmade with the utmost care and attention. I’m really honoured to showcase these beautiful products on my blog.

Mother’s Day at Lush

Lush certainly know how to think up new and inspiring ranges and this time it’s Mother’s Day that gets the all attention. Last week I persuaded my husband to drive me to the Bury store so I could explore the range and take a few bits home with me.

Valentine’s was still the order of the day in the shop, with Lonely Hearts, Unicorn Horns and Prince Charming shower gels piled high, but for this visit it was the Mother’s Day products that I really had my eye on. The Lush Mother’s Day range has definitely been cooked up with both mums and kids in mind, so along with indulgent aromas plenty of fun characters have been thrown in to amuse and delight Lush’s younger audience. Faced with all these brightly coloured and interesting goodies I was like a kid in a sweetshop and quickly filled my basket up with treats.
