My Korean-Beauty Journey

I was sorting through my Korean beauty stash recently and it got me reminiscing about the amazing Memeboxes I used to get! It’s been almost a year since Memebox, who branded themselves as the World’s number one Korean beauty store, stopped international shipping to concentrate on their American market and although I always hoped they would start back up again, sadly it hasn’t happened yet!

When you think of Korean skincare one brand that will spring immediately to mind is Skinfood. With their appealing packaging and a wide variety of products that are pretty consistant in terms of quality and value, it’s little wonder this brand has made waves outside of its home county. Consequently I was so excited when a few months back Beauteque released a Skinfood bag as part of their ‘Head To Toe’ series and I had to grab one.

Beauteque Head To Toe Bag – Aloe

Every month Korean beauty experts Beauteque release a new limited edition bag in their Head-To-Toe series. This is not a subscription, but a one-off purchase, and each bag is curated around a specific theme. June’s theme was Aloe, and the bag featured a number of products featuring this skin-friendly ingredient.

Although we are now in September, I was very kindly sent this bag to feature on my blog and I was really excited. I love aloe-based skincare and, even though Summer is a distant memory, as we rapidly move towards the colder months aloe is still a great ingredient as it helps protect skin against those harsh winter winds and drying central heating.

Mask Maven by Beauteque – June 2015

If you read my blog regularly you may have noticed I used to post quite regularly about Korean subscription box company Memebox, however they sadly pulled out of the international market earlier this year and since then I’ve been desperately missing my K-Beauty fix – especially the fantastic sheet masks. Then Beauteque literally walked into my life, offering me the chance to review their Mask Maven service and of course I said yes!

Mask Maven* is an international monthly subscription service offered by Beauteque which every month sends a customers a selection of nine to eleven masks from the hottest Korean beauty brands. Included each month is a selection of different types of masks, including sheet masks, hand and feet masks, hair masks, washoff masks, and more all tucked into a cute organza bag, however June’s bag is firmly focused on skincare – just where I like it. Read on as I reveal the the masks that feature this month.
