Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque

My oily, spot prone complexion loves a good clay-based mask to help detoxify and balance the skin, and I try to use one weekly to keep on top of blackheads and breakouts, so when I was invited to try a newly launched mask from Dermalogica I was very excited.

AA Skincare Lavender & Tea Tree Moisturising Face Lotion

There was a time when affordable skincare meant slapping on creams high in mineral oils, bulked out with synthetic fillers and fragranced with artificial perfume. Now thankfully companies have caught up, delivering skin-friendly, high performance formulas that are kind to your purse. One of the companies leading the way is AA Skincare, whose excellent products I’ve had the pleasure of featuring before, and today I have one of their face lotions to introduce you to.

The AA Skincare Lavender & Tea Tree Moisturising Face Lotion (100ml, £6.96)* is a light and readily absorbed lotion, which not only moisturises but helps to tone and restore your skin. The tea tree oil and lavender makes the lotion naturally antibacterial, antiseptic and antifungal, meaning it is perfect for acne prone skin; helping to blitz spots, blemishes and aiding the skin to heal.

The lotion comes in a generously sized 100ml pump dispenser, from which one pump is adequate for my whole face and neck. The texture is light and cooling, instantly soothing any redness and inflammation. Bolstered with Rosehip Oil, which has great rejuvenating and regenerating properties as well as being high in Vitamin C, and highly nourishing and antioxidant rich Grapeseed Oil the lotion really helps revive and brighten the complexion too.

If you’re battling breakouts or suffering with hormonal breakouts this lotion is the perfect product. It doesn’t strip the skin or contain any harsh ingredients that could upset the balance of your skin, but treats it gently and respectfully. Plus the super affordable price point makes it really worth a punt!

You can explore the full range on the AA Skincare website and if you use promo code BLOG20 you can enjoy a 20% discount on your purchase.

Proactiv+ Skin Smoothing Exfoliator

Proactiv+ is a skincare brand founded in 1995 by Doctors Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, who met whilst training as Dermatologists at Stanford University. Their area of particular interest is acne and blemishes, and they have dedicated their professional lives to researching and fighting the causes of breakouts, in turn helping people overcome the stigma associated with these skin conditions.

Proactiv+ is an easy to use three-step system which treats blemishes and helps prevent new ones from forming. Simply by cleansing with the Skin Smoothing Exfoliator, targeting and treating skin using the Pore Targeting Treatment, and finally hydrating with the Complexion Perfecting Hydrator the system offers those with spot-prone skin a clearer, healthier complexion or your money back!

Australian Bodycare Blemish Stick

For most of the year, other than the odd hormonal breakout, my skin is fairly well-behaved, but when Summer arrives I seem to get more blemishes as my skin adjusts to the heat. Switching to a lighter moisturiser helps, but what about when a spot strikes or you feel that familiar tingling under the skin? Is there anything that can prevent that spot from emerging, or if it does speed up the healing?

FaceB4 Review

I was contacted recently and asked if I would trial the FaceB4 system and feature the results on my blog. Knowing how much of a concern spots and blemishes can be, even to those who have left their teenage years quite some time ago, I was definitely interested in seeing how the system faired and reviewing it for my readers.

FaceB4 is manufactured by Medichem; the people behind a number of well known brands including the very successful Makeup Revolution line. I knew my skin therefore was in safe hands, but what about the claims FaceB4 make about reducing spots, blemishes and redness?
