Sweet Cecily’s Natural Skincare

Tucked into the stunning landscape of Whitby, North Yorkshire, is the gorgeous natural skincare brand, Sweet Cecily’s. Sweet Cecily’s began life in 2010 when tired of her troublesome skin, the brands founder Cecily embarked on creating an affordable, gentle and truly natural skincare range. After some trial and error the first products launched in 2011, swiftly followed by lots of activity branding, marketing and building up their presence in the marketplace, which culminated in their manic Christmas sales in 2014. You could say that Sweet Cecily’s had arrived!

Very kindly Sweet Cecily’s sent me their Elderflower and Almond Hand Cream (50ml, £6.95)* to try, and as an enthusiastic fan of natural beauty I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.

Recently Oleo Bodycare sent me their Rich Moisturising Hand Cream (60g, £9)* to review. Bursting with nourishing oils including geranium, lavender and frankincense hand cream sounded lovely and as a keen gardener I knew this was a product that would be right up my street, but I was curious as to whether it would it stand up to the harsh treatment my hands suffer when I’m working in the garden.

Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex

When Clinique discontinued my favourite anti-aging hand cream, the only cream I’d found that was truely effective at banishing the crepey skin on the back of my hands, I was massively disappointed. So when I was introduced to Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex (thank you Lookfantastic beauty box!) I felt a huge surge of excitement. Could this be the hand cream I’d been looking for?

Certainly it sounded like it was, making some impressive claims that it could improve skin texture in just 10 days, but as the saying goes the proof of the pudding is in the eating and Hand Chemistry had a lot to live up to.

E45 Hand Cream Range

From gardening and housework to, most recently, DIY my hands really do get mistreated, so when BzzAgent launched their E45 hand cream campaign and I was invited I jumped at the chance to try their creams.

E45 has always been a staple in my house and even when I was younger I recall using E45 lotion when I had really dry skin, however their hand creams were products I hadn’t tried. I was therefore very happy to be sent two of the products from their range; the Intense Recovery Hand Cream and the Repair & Protect Overnight Hand Cream.

July Birchbox Review

I seem to get more excited and impatient with each month when Birchbox announces Dispatch Day. This month I’d suspected my box had gone AWOL again as it seemed a lot of people had got their boxes by the Wednesday or Thursday and mine was still stuck somewhere at Birchbox HQ according to the tracking. I needn’t have worried however as sometime overnight the tracking updated to show it had been picked up on the Thursday and was on its way!

Finally today (Saturday) I can excitedly declare that July’s Birchbox has just landed on my doorstep and is ready for unboxing!

The Body Shop Hand Creams

Apparently the hands can really give away a person’s age and as a result of this claim I’m a self-confessed hand cream addict. I look at my mum’s crepey hands and I know I’m probably genetically predispositioned to having aged-looking hands so I really layer the cream on! Two of my favourites are from The Body Shop; I love their generous sizes and the packaging, but their formulas pack a punch too.
