Project Mc2 H20 Nail Science Lab

This week it has been British Science Week and the Netflix show Project Mc2 was an official sponsor of the event. The Project Mc2 show helps inspire older children – particularly girls – to take an interest in S.T.E.A.M subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

Earlier this year I featured the Project Mc2 range of dolls, but Project MC2 have also launched some new products including the Crayon Makeup Science kit, A.D.I.S.N Journal Secret Agent Notebook set, and the Ultimate Spy Bag, all of which are available from all leading toy retailers priced at £24.99.

Nail Art Pedicure featuring Scholl Footcare

Nail art seems to be bigger than ever and is a trend that shows no sign of disappearing anytime soon, but, whilst I see loads of elaborate nail designs, when it comes to toenails I rarely see anything other than a basic pedicure. I therefore decided it was time to give it a whirl, but first was the small issue of getting my feet in shape.

For me there’s one go-to brand when it comes to foot care and that’s Scholl. With their vast array of products designed to buff, moisturise and protect, there really is no excuse to have less than perfect feet.

Nail Art for Dummies – Nail Stamping

One form of nail art I’ve been itching to try for months is nail stamping. This technique allows you to reproduce intricate images on your nails that would otherwise be impossible to do freehand.

When I received the very pretty LOLA Makeup nail polish from this month’s Libbie Club I knew the delicate blue shade would make the perfect background for some stamping and that it would suit a number of colours and designs, so I immediately went out and picked up a kit. I was also keen to share my experience and step by step tutorial with you.

Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique

I love a bargain and regularly visit the local pound shops in search of hidden gems. End of lines, discontinued ranges, even products that were intended for export, there are often some amazing savings to be had!

I recently spied some nail products by Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique in my local 99p Store. Andrea Fulerton is a celebrity nail artist and her nail products are currently stocked on the Superdrug website at £4.50 each. Their unusual double ended packaging is unlike any other products I’ve seen on the high street and with their bright shades and pretty coloured glitter topcoats there was no way I was going to leave these beauties in the shop. As a self-confessed nail polish addict I had to pick them up at the knock-down price of 99p!

Nail Art For Dummies – Dry Brush Technique

I’m not much cop at nail art, having neither the patience nor the imagination, but I saw a technique a few months ago I thought that even I could make a decent attempt at! Dry Brushing involves taking a brush and scraping off the excess polish then brushing it lightly over a contrasting colour in different directions. No special tools are needed making this technique great for beginners.

Today’s Manicure – Nails Inc & China Glaze

Thanks to the gardening I did at my local Children’s Centre yesterday, where I singlehandedly planted up three raised beds and 14 containers, Wednesday’s manicure didn’t last very long at all. It’s not that the polish I used isn’t hard wearing, it was literally the fact that I never use gardening gloves, which is a really bad habit as handling compost is very drying to the hands and wrecks havoc on my nails.
