In October I wrote about how I’d got out of the habit of posting about my monthly product use-ups, resulting in a back log of Empties which I intended to split across two blog posts. Well finally I’ve got my act together (sort of) to bring you the final installment and today I’ll be giving you the low-down on the products I used over late summer.
It has been quite a while since I placed an order with Latest In Beauty, in fact they have had a big revamp since my last box with a new website, a larger selection in the Build Your Own Box section and also monthly subscription options.
I had resisted placing an order for quite some time but when I saw the latest Build Your Own Box products a number of them caught my eye so I decided to take the plunge. I opted for the £18 ‘Beauty Guru’ box which allows you to choose 9 items. This works out at only £2 per item, which considering there are a number of full sized products to select from means it’s great value.
Created by a Korean healthcare specialist, who wanted to bring the high-quality sensitive skin treatments from dermatologist clinics into the home, When face masks are unique sheet masks that utilise advanced bio-cellulose technology.
The all-natural, coconut-derived bio-cellulose sheet is gentle enough to treat burn patients, and can hold fluids up to 100 times its dry weight, which is 10 times more than your average fabric sheet masks, making them ultra hydrating. The bio-cellulose sheet’s superfine, 3-dimensional fibres also enable superior dermal contact for a perfect fit that prevents evaporation and wastage of the serum, locks in moisture and allows the serum’s nutrients to be delivered to the skin.
Taking out the recycle bin yesterday I realised I’d not posted my September empties, so here is a quick run down on the products I used up last month, along with my thoughts on them.
Last month my first ever Mask Maven dropped on my doormat and I was immediately impressed. This exciting new Korean subscription service helped fill the void left in my life when Memebox stopped shipping to the UK and kept my skin glowing month-long! I was super excited for the next installment and finally it’s here and ready to be unveiled!
If you read my blog regularly you may have noticed I used to post quite regularly about Korean subscription box company Memebox, however they sadly pulled out of the international market earlier this year and since then I’ve been desperately missing my K-Beauty fix – especially the fantastic sheet masks. Then Beauteque literally walked into my life, offering me the chance to review their Mask Maven service and of course I said yes!
Mask Maven* is an international monthly subscription service offered by Beauteque which every month sends a customers a selection of nine to eleven masks from the hottest Korean beauty brands. Included each month is a selection of different types of masks, including sheet masks, hand and feet masks, hair masks, washoff masks, and more all tucked into a cute organza bag, however June’s bag is firmly focused on skincare – just where I like it. Read on as I reveal the the masks that feature this month.
It was Korean beauty experts Memebox that introduced me to the delights of sheet masks and until then the only sort of face masks I’d ever used were the wash off or peel off variety. Popular in Asian countries sheet masks are a whole new ball game; impregnated with precious essence that you leave on for your skin to absorb they really do take skincare to the next level and they now have a regular place in my skincare routine. I was wondering when the UK would catch on with this wonderful beauty trend, and finally it seems we have with Beauty Masks Ltd.
Founded by Angela Barbagelata, who herself discovered the revelation that was sheet masks on a trip to the Far East, Beauty Masks Ltd is a company which exclusively distributes Timeless Truth Facial Beauty Masks within the UK and Ireland and very generously sent me one of their Timeless Truth Charcoal Detox Brightening Facial Beauty Mask (£4.90)* to sample.
