It Really Works Vitamins are back with a new addition to their growing range of vitamins and supplements.
I’m a big believer in taking vitamins – not to replace a healthy diet but to supplement it – ensuring that my body gets all the minerals and vitamins it requires to function normally and look healthy.
Trichologists have found there is a strong link between your overall nutrition and the state of your hair, and vitamin deficiencies can contribute to dull, weak, and thinning strands. Hairburst is a new vitamin supplement scientifically proven to maintain healthy hair growth and I over the last month I have been trialling the supplement.
When it comes to weightloss, or lack thereof, my problem isn’t an unhealthy diet and a lack of exercise (I hit the gym 4 to 5 times a week), but my appetite. I like food and lots of it! I don’t particularly believe in restrictive diets either – cutting the carbs, juicing etc – it’s just not me and it doesn’t fit in with my family and social life. What I need is something that keeps me satiated for longer, and curbs my appetite without the need to cut out particular foods.
That’s why I was so excited to discover Forza Hydratrim Weight Loss Capsules (30 day supply, RRP £25)*. Containing naturally derived Glucomamman which expands gently in your stomach these capsules help to fill you up, keeping hunger pangs at bay and making you feel fuller for longer. Not a shake or calorie counter in sight.
French Maritime Pine Bark extract is an ingredient that features in Double Serum, one of Clarins most popular anti-aging skincare products, but did you know that as well as its use topically this natural botanical extract also has skincare benefits when taken as a supplement?
Pycnogenol, as it is known as, is a natural food supplement that is 50 times more potent than Vitamin E and 20 times more powerful than Vitamin C. In clinical studies has been found to reduce the signs of aging, so when I was asked if to trial both the serum and the Pycnogenol supplement I was hugely excited.
I often say there is more to skincare than simply which lotions you slap onto your face. You can spend hundreds of pounds on the latest creams but if you neglect to eat a balanced diet or drink enough water that bright, youthful complexion isn’t going to happen. Not to mention the fact that even with the healthiest of diets as we age the body’s production of Collagen slows down, leading to the telltale signs of aging. Whilst you can’t stop the inevitable hands of time completely we can, with the help of a new breed of skincare supplements help support our skin’s health, and over the last month I’ve been trialling one of the latest from LQ Liquid Health.
LQ Liquid Health Supplements Advanced Skincare (RRP £29.99, 10 X 50ml)* is a liquid food supplement containing 5000mg Marine Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Glucosamine, Selenium, Zinc and vitamins B, C and E. Taken daily these ingredients work from the inside out to support healthy skin; protecting from oxidative stress and contributing to normal cell turnover. Whether your concern is fine lines, acne or hormonal breakouts LQ Liquid Health will help to calm, protect, reduce and alleviate.
I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again; beauty goes much deeper than what you put on the surface of your skin. If you think you can party all night, smoke, drink to excess, eat rubbish and not have it show on your skin then you’ll be sadly disappointed. Of course I’m only human and there are times when even my halo slip and I’ve staggered home drunk and slept in my makeup, or stayed up until the wee small hours blogging with only a Dominos pizza to keep me going, but the intention to be healthy is there!
Luckily there are a number of companies that also recognise that to achieve glowing skin takes more than good skincare and who work to develop products that promote healthy skin from the inside out. One such company is Works With Water with their unique Help: Beautify Skin jelly supplements.
Thick, lustrous hair and strong nails are seen as an indication of health so it’s no wonder that we often focus on these when it comes to our beauty regime. But whilst we buff and paint our nails, or generously apply hair oils to heal split ends do we consider what goes into our bodies?
It Really Works is a UK-based vitamin brand that works from the inside to promote stronger nails, longer, healthier hair and brighter skin and I was kindly sent a month’s supply to review.
